From the hills of Garhwal and Kumaon to the heart of our Sydney community.
Kauthig is a community fair, or mela, in Uttarakhandi tradition. Shared equally by Garhwal and Kumaon, its name is one of the few festival names that connects both regions.
For Uttarakhand communities away from home, Kauthig is a cultural bridge to Devbhoomi, the “land of the gods”, keeping the next generation connected to their roots.
Everyone who helps bring the celebration to life, and everyone who joins it, is a Kauthig Saathi.

Please arrive on time to enjoy the morning activities and breakfast. Allow extra time for parking during the morning arrival period.
Parking & getting here
Follow our Traffic Management Kauthig Saathis. Park only in permitted or designated areas. Keep driveways, neighbouring properties, entrances, exits and emergency access clear.
We are guests in the Galston community. Please be patient and considerate of our neighbours.
Public transport: Use the Transport for NSW trip planner for your starting point, selecting Sunday, 20 September and arrival before 10:00 AM. Check your return journey too.

Your guide to the day
Thank you for the overwhelming response. Kauthig has reached full capacity, and catering is planned around confirmed registrations.
Confirmed registrations only
Unregistered guests and additional attendees cannot be accommodated on the day.
Visit Registration
Go to the Registration Counter, where your registration will be verified.
Collect it. Keep it on.
Every registered attendee receives a Kauthig wristband. Wear yours throughout the event.
No wristband, no food service
Your wristband is mandatory for both breakfast and lunch.
Bring your essentials
Bring necessary medication, weather-appropriate clothing and anything you or your family need for the day. Colourful traditional attire, Pahadi spirit and plenty of energy are welcome!
A day of community
Enjoy performances, activities, food and time together from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Please arrive on time for morning activities and breakfast.

These event arrangements come from the association’s attendee email. Please help keep Kauthig safe, enjoyable and welcoming for everyone.
Kauthig Saathi Dos
- Do check in at Registration and wear your wristband throughout the event.
- Do follow reasonable directions from UAS organisers, Kauthig Saathis, traffic volunteers and venue personnel.
- Do supervise children at all times, especially near food service, entrances, exits, activities and equipment.
- Do use the bins, clear your tables and eating areas, and encourage children to do the same.
- Do bring personal essentials and treat people, the venue and our neighbours with courtesy and respect.
- Do tell a Kauthig Saathi straight away about any accident, hazard, medical issue or other concern.
Don'ts
- Don’t bring unregistered guests or additional attendees. The event is full.
- Don’t block driveways, neighbouring properties, entrances, exits or emergency access.
- Don’t bring anything that could create a safety issue, damage the venue or inconvenience others.
- Don’t leave children unattended or allow damage to property, decorations, displays or equipment.
- Don’t leave rubbish or personal belongings unattended around the venue.
- Don’t behave in an inappropriate, disruptive, unsafe or disrespectful way. You may be asked to leave.
More information for attendees
Children, venue care & personal belongings
Parents and guardians remain responsible for their children throughout the event. Children must be supervised and attended to at all times, with particular care around food-service areas, entrances and exits, activities, equipment and other busy areas.
Please treat Galston Community Centre, its equipment, facilities and surrounding areas with care. Follow all venue directions and requirements, and ensure children do not damage property, decorations, displays or equipment.
Please take care of your personal belongings. UAS and its volunteers cannot take responsibility for belongings that are lost, damaged or left unattended.
Program & changes
Performances, activities, schedules, food-service timings and other elements of the program may need to be changed, delayed, substituted or cancelled due to operational requirements or circumstances beyond the organisers’ control.

Health, safety & emergencies
Follow reasonable directions from UAS organisers, Kauthig Saathis, traffic-management volunteers and venue personnel. Inform a Kauthig Saathi immediately if you notice an accident, hazard, medical issue or anything needing attention.

Acknowledgement of event conditions
By attending Mero Pahad, Mero Kauthig 2026, attendees acknowledge these event conditions and agree to follow reasonable instructions provided by UAS organisers, Kauthig Saathis and venue personnel.
Please treat fellow attendees, children, seniors, performers, volunteers, sponsors, stallholders, venue staff and neighbours with courtesy and respect. Inappropriate, disruptive, unsafe or disrespectful behaviour may result in an attendee being asked to leave.

Photography, video & your preferences
Photography and videography will take place throughout the event. UAS may use event images and recordings in current and future communications and promotions.
Prefer not to be photographed or filmed? Tell a Kauthig Saathi and, wherever practical, the photographer or videographer directly. Avoid posed, group or organised photographs. Parents and guardians should do the same for children who should not be photographed.
Incidental appearances in crowd photos, background footage or wide-angle recordings may not always be avoidable.

Photography and videography will take place throughout Mero Pahad, Mero Kauthig 2026 to capture and celebrate the event.
By attending the event, attendees acknowledge and agree that photographs and videos taken during Kauthig in which they may appear may be used by UAS for current and future communications, social media, websites, publications, event promotions, marketing materials and other activities promoting UAS and its community events.
By attending, attendees acknowledge that they have no objection to UAS using such photographs or videos for these purposes.
If you or any member of your family does not wish to be photographed or filmed, please inform a Kauthig Saathi at the event and, wherever practical, advise the photographer or videographer directly that you do not wish to be photographed.
Please also avoid participating in posed, group or organised photographs.
Parents and guardians who do not wish their children to be photographed or filmed should similarly inform a Kauthig Saathi and the photographer/videographer and ensure their children do not participate in posed or organised photographs.
Please understand that due to the nature of a large community event, it may not always be possible to prevent someone from appearing incidentally in general crowd photographs, background footage or wide-angle event recordings.
